ABOUT US

Policy and Innovation Lab

Welcome to the first national Youth Policy and Innovation Lab – a digital self-learning platform – developed by UNFPA, UNICEF, UNDP, and SoLF under Generation Unlimited. The aim of the website is to source real-time knowledge, innovation, and conversations around meaningful youth engagement in policymaking and decision-making processes at various levels across social, political, and economic landscapes. This initiative aims to empower young people by providing them with the tools and platforms necessary to influence and shape the policies that affect their lives, fostering a more inclusive and responsive governance system.

The Policy Innovation Lab (PIL) is Pakistan’s premier knowledge hub and innovation platform focused on youth-related policies. Managed by the School of Leadership Foundation, a national-scale independent organization established in 2004, PIL is dedicated to enhancing youth engagement in policymaking and fostering innovative thinking.

PIL seeks to empower young people by expanding their knowledge base and providing them with the skills and resources necessary for effective participation in policy-making processes. It offers a centralized repository of information and courses, alongside interactive tools such as global dialogue forums and thought-provoking discussions, designed to develop youth skills in policy advocacy and negotiation. Additionally, PIL showcases projects and publications related to innovation, aiming to promote innovative thinking among youth and inspire them to lead reforms. Through these initiatives, PIL amplifies the voices of young people, encouraging them to shape policies that impact their lives and communities.

The Policy Innovation Lab (PIL) is more than an educational platform; it serves as a catalyst for change, empowering youth by creating a collaborative environment that fosters public, private, and youth partnerships (PPYP). These partnerships are crucial for developing and implementing innovative solutions tailored to Pakistan’s unique socio-economic landscape. By bringing together key stakeholders—including think tanks, practitioners, policymakers, entrepreneurs, researchers, academicians, and the community—PIL leads in forming cross-sector collaborations.
