About Me
Jahangir is a leading strategic communication, design thinking and public policy professional. Honoured as the Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum for his work on development initiatives to improve the state of media and governance.
He leads Mishal Pakistan; a country partner institute of the New Economy and Societies Platform, World Economic Forum. He serves as a Member of the National Artificial Intelligence Policy formation committee, set up by the Ministry of IT & Telecom, Government of Pakistan as a private sector expert.
Co-founding the Media Development Trust and AGAHI, flagship development initiatives, bringing stakeholders on a common platform, has empowered communities across Pakistan. He has developed clusters of expertise around critical challenges confronting the region; engaging more than 35,000 professionals. As the founder of Pakistan’s first journalism awards, the AGAHI Awards for Journalism Excellence and Media Credibility Index, content evaluation framework are industry benchmarks. His ongoing focus on developing the Governance Accountability Index, in collaboration with senior academics & industry practitioners, aims at improving public policy paradigms.
He has served as an Advisor to the Stanford Center of Innovation & Communication, Stanford University on Journalism & Media. The Festival of Media, Valencia ranked him among top 10 most influential media personalities in the world.
Earlier he worked as CEO for SAMAA TV. He was also a board member & CEO of CNBC Pakistan. At the age of 31, Jahangir was the youngest CEO of any CNBC franchise in the world. Jahangir has been the Founding CEO of DBTV, Pakistan’s first digital news platform with an AI-enabled newsroom, and RINSTRA.com; Pakistan’s first digital platform for content creators.
Jahangir is a Design Thinker from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, he is a Certified Director from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School and the National Defense University, Islamabad on National & International Security. Jahangir has been trained as a public policy professional from Harvard, Yale, MIT, Tufts and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore.
Jahangir is a frequent speaker at the World Economic Forum, World Bank, Harvard, Stanford, BBC College of Journalism and other research institutions.
